“ENEA is the National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development, a public body aimed at research, technological innovation and the provision of advanced services to enterprises, public administration and citizens in the sectors of energy, the environment and sustainable economic development (article 4, Law no. 22 of 28 December 2015)". It’s efforts are focused on boosting research, technology transfer and technical-scientific support to companies, associations, central and local administrations. ENEA'S organic composition takes advantage of highly qualified personnel, advanced laboratories and excellent instruments for the realization of numerous projects that leads the Agency to fully support the development and competitiveness of the national economic system. Our focus sectors are energy technologies (renewable sources, energy storage, smart grids), energy efficiency (with the National Agency for Energy Efficiency), technologies for cultural heritage, seismic protection, food safety, pollution, life sciences, strategic raw materials, climate change. Especially for the last one aspect we supports public authorities (Ministry of environment and Ministry of economic development in particular) in the transition towards the circular economy and the resource efficiency. The Agency collaborate, also, with numerous international research institutions and participates in technological platforms and networks.
