ISSP UL, is a leading center in materials science, known for excellence in research, innovation, and industry collaboration. Through the CAMART2 project (Centre of Excellence in Advanced Material Research and Technology Transfer), ISSP UL boosts scientific competitiveness, offering solutions to industrial and societal challenges. Our mission is to foster a dynamic environment that elevates Latvian and European science globally. ISSP UL focus combines theoretical and experimental methods with applications in electronics, photonics, radiation conversion, energy harvesting and storage, and biomedical devices. With over 100 PhD researchers, we conduct advanced projects in a 10,000 m² facility featuring ISO-certified cleanrooms. Open Labs provide access to modern equipment for students, researchers, and industry. With 50 annual projects - many in partnership with industry - and over 100 international collaborations, ISSP UL connects science with business in high-tech material science partnerships. Through these efforts, ISSP UL remains at the forefront of innovation, addressing critical challenges in science and technology.
