The Software Competence Center Hagenberg GmbH (SCCH) is an independent Austrian research center for Integrated Software and AI Systems based on two main pillars: Data Science and Software Science. New research directions include Quantum and Neuromorphic Computing as well as monitoring and diagnosis of Conformity with AI Regulations and AI Certification. SCCH is one of the associated companies of the Upper Austrian Research GmbH, the leading company for research of the state of Upper Austria (Member of UAR Innovation Network). At present, SCCH has almost 120 employees. Since its foundation by the Johannes Kepler University (JKU) in 1999, SCCH has focused on application-oriented research and development in the Softwarepark Hagenberg. The close cooperation with partners from science, in particular with the founding partner JKU, as well as with numerous renowned companies from business and industry, makes SCCH a prime example of a well-functioning alignment along the 'innovation chain' of education, research and business. SCCH focuses on software for production as well as on data, which plays an increasingly important role due to ML systems. Without this combination of focal points, Industry 4.0 and AI are inconceivable. The SCCH is funded within the COMET - Competence Centers for Excellent Technologies - framework by BMVIT, BMDW and the province of Upper Austria. COMET is managed by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency FFG.
