The Advanced Centre for Aerospace Technologies (CATEC) is a technology centre established and managed by the Andalusian Foundation for Aerospace Development (FADA). CATEC is the leading private national technology centre in the development of UAS technologies for civil applications. The centre has more than 13 years of experience and a staff of 75 professionals, most of them engineers, PhDs, graduates in scientific and technical specialities.
Moreover, CATEC is an international reference centre, having participated in more than 25 European projects related to UAS in the last 13 years, and having coordinated 4 of them.
CATEC is structured around three main RDI activities:
-Materials and Processes: We have numerous solutions for mechanical, dynamic and non-destructive characterisation of materials and structures, as well as for in-service failure analysis/component manufacturing and environmental and reliability testing.
-Avionics and Systems: Focused mainly on two main lines of development: unmanned aerial systems and the application of new ICT technologies to improve efficiency in aeronautical manufacturing processes (IIoT).
-Automation and Robotics: Focused on the automation of manufacturing, assembly and maintenance processes in the aeronautical industry. Our lines of work include the development of automated test benches and flexible and modular robotic systems based on mobile platforms or multiple cooperative robots, and focused on manufacturing and assembly tasks.
