Company was founded in 2008 as a spin-off of “La Sapienza" University of Rome with the primary mission of technology transfer in the field of wastes and wastewater treatment. Researchers and one SME involved in the digital technology sector are part of the company structure. The company has several projects and private contracts already developed and ongoing; the main activity of the company concerns with the design and implementation of prototypes/pilot plant aimed at testing highly innovative processes for the recovery of high value-added elements from WEEE, waste, residues, and complex minerals. The company today is an expert in the following sectors: innovative process and technology development, scale-up from lab to prototype, basic and detailed design of prototype/demonstrative (P-D) units and full scale plant, P-D unit construction, execution of experimental campaigns on P-D unit, provision of know-how, assistance in construction and start up for full-scale plant, training of personnel involved in the management plants, analysis of environmental impacts and costs (LCA and LCC) and business plan and market analysis. In the last three years, the company has invested about 3 M€ in research and development and built an fully equipped experimental platform where the P-D units are located. In the sector of recycling Eco Recycling currently owns 5 patents: 2 for batteries, 2 for PV panels and 1 for the recovery of hydrogen membrane.
