CPI is a leading independent technology innovation centre and founding member of the UK Government's High Value Manufacturing Catapult. Established in 2004, our teams apply many years of experience to transform great inventions into successfully marketed products or processes. We work with partners across diverse markets worldwide, driving their innovations forward and helping them reduce the risk and cost of new product and process development. CPI's capabilities address 3 main themes: • Healthcare innovation, including medicine manufacturing for multi-modalities such as small molecules, biologics, microbiome and nucleic acid therapeutics. • Net-zero innovation, including the development and scale-up of sustainable materials such as bio-derived food, feed and agrichemicals, battery materials, formulated products, and packaging. • Digital and data-enabled innovation. CPI has delivered 1,200+ R&D projects worth >£444m, collaborating with 1,400+ businesses (60% SMEs) and generating >£2bn additional GDP. 1 in 5 projects involved academia collaboration, helping to drive inventions into industrial applications. Alongside Calysta USA and Otto Simon Ltd, CPI won the Team Award at the prestigious IChemE Global Awards 2017. The European Commission's Innovation Radar analysis of EC-funded H2020 project, DIY4U, identified CPI as a 'Key Innovator' for innovation on Fablabs for small-scale manufacture of customised or personalised fast-moving consumer goods.
