enGenes Biotech is developing technologies, skills, and processes that enable the transition of bioengineered products from scientific feasibility to commercial availability. Significant reductions in manufacturing costs enable market penetration and spur the commercialization of sustainable products. The enGenes-X-Press Technology allows decoupling of protein production from cell growth. Host cell growth is stopped at defined cell concentration and production of the protein of interest is induced. All host cell resources are used for the production of the target protein. The benefits of the X-Press Technology include higher product yields, secretion of the protein to the cell supernatant, production of toxic or difficult to express proteins, and improved genetic stability enabling continuous production processes. The X-Press Technology is fully scalable (> 15m3).
