VÚTS a.s. is one of the most important research and development bases in the Czech Republic for mechanical engineering. It employs more than 190 people, has the status of a research organisation and focuses on research, development and manufacture of machinery and equipment for the manufacturing industry, especially in the field of machine tools, textiles, printing, food, packaging and medical technology. It also deals with automation, development, design and construction of special purpose machines, manipulators, conveyors and test equipment. The innovation activity of VÚTS, a.s. is characterized by the implementation of a complex set of activities ranging from research and development, design development to prototype realization of machines and equipment or complete technological units. VÚTS, a.s. closely cooperates with a number of industrial partners and also with a number of academic and other research institutes - e.g. Technical University in Liberec, Czech Technical University in Prague, University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, Institute of Thermomechanics of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, Research and Testing Institute of Aerospace Engineering Prague.
